Lately..

We have been pretty lazy around here lately and I.AM.LOVING.IT. I'm starting to get a little burned out from the craziness that Fall brings, so it has been nice to just hang around the house.

We've been filling our days with homeschooling and enjoying long mornings outside. The kids have been BEGGING me to take them to the neighborhood duck pond and I obliged.

Let me tell you, those geese make me nervous! There is one that Ansleigh calls "Meanie". He hisses and will chase us. Scares me to death.

And no wonder my kids have been begging to go the pond! I realized that we hadn't been since I tried to walk Anna Grace out in my last few weeks of pregnancy.

Anna Grace has been Chase and Ansleighs little shadow. She wants to do EVERYTHING they do. :)

Alan got off early last Friday so that we could surprise the kids and take them to the Titanic exhibit in Atlanta. The exhibit wasn't very long (maybe 20 minutes), but the kids loved it (but wanted more).Their favorite part was the iceberg that they could touch.

And this sweet girl blesses my heart. Yesterday (out of the blue), Ansleigh asked if she could make lunch. She said, "I know you're tired, Mama. You go sit on the couch and rest and I'll make lunch for the kids." Precious girl. She made everyone turkey sandwiches, animal cookies, milk and an apple (without any help from me). I was impressed. :)

I try to take each of my kids on one-on-one dates. Chase and I went to the library and read books about dinosaurs. :) I love that it doesn't take much to please him.

Love that kid to pieces. I asked him the other day what he thought about having another brother or sister. He said, "Well, a brother would be nice. But mama, those girls drive me nuts! If I have another sister then I'm going to the woods with Daddy!" :)

Pictures by Chase

Chase LOVES taking pictures with my iphone. The other day we were driving to the store and he  yelled to stop the car so he could take a picture. This is what he captured. :)

So, today I let him have my phone to take whatever picture he wanted.  It was cool to see what he chose to photograph. :)

I need bubble wrap

Doesn't this face break your heart? She was on the couch and fell into the coffee table resulting in this nice little shiner. She has no fear and she is constantly climbing/falling/running into EVERYTHING. I need bubble wrap!

& this kid. What am I going to do with him? What a goober!

This sweet girl tells me every single day that she wants to be a mommy to 5 babies. I sure do hope she gets that blessing! I tell her every single time that having 5 babies would be so amazing and that I will be right here to help!

A letter to Chase.

Chase,

My goodness these past six years have flown by! Wasnt it yesterday that I first felt the beginning pains of labor? I was so excited to know that I was only a few hours away from meeting my firstborn son! Oh my boy, these past years have brought me such joy. They haven't always been easy and I am sure that I fail you daily, but I love you so much.

I take so much pride in you. I love your quiet kindness and your quick wit. I love your laugh and the way you cuddle up with me on the couch. I love how much you love the outdoors and how you want to be a hunter JUST like Daddy. You are everything we ever wanted.

I love that it doesn't take much to please you. I love your patience with your sisters and I love how much you love babies. I love that you thank God for Jesus every time you pray and that you remind your sister to do so as well.

My son, may you always remember to thank God. Even in the thick of the darkness, remember to give thanks! Remember the Purpose. Remember the One who gave it all so that you may live!

My child, I pray that you will not only know Him, but that you will walk with Him. I pray that His word will be forever in your heart and on your lips, and that you will devote your life to His good will. May you not seek to please man, but do everything for His glory.

My Chase, I am so thankful for you and I am so excited to see you grow up! I am so blessed that God chose me to be your mother. What an honor!

Happy 6th Birthday Chase! :)

Love,
Mama
